"Cardinal Suicide"

This has to be explained. The following conversation inspired this. For those who don't know, the song "Old Days" is on the album Chicago VIII - the one with the cardinal cover:
"Old Days" At Penn State on Saturday « on: October 6th, 2003, 12:11pm » ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I was at Penn State for homecoming on Saturday and Wisconsin was trying to lose to The Lions to give them a happy homecoming but Penn State wouldn't accept the gift so the Badgers won 30-23. Because it was homecoming the school assembled old members of their marching band and presented the "Penn State ALUMNI Blue Band" who played halftime before the real Blue Band. Naturally the theme was nostalgia. As the first song ended the PA announcer said: "Here is a song by the super-group Chicago. Let's celebrate "Old Days." Having heard this version I decided Pankow should sue the alumni association for the travesty that followed. It actually made me like Chicago's version. Anyway it was nice to see our guys saluted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: "Old Days" At Penn State on Saturday « Reply #1 on: October 6th, 2003, 12:46pm » That's too funny! Was it really THAT awful? Even considering most of the "old timers" probably haven't touched their (musical) instruments since college? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: "Old Days" At Penn State on Saturday « Reply #2 on: October 6th, 2003, 4:24pm » Beyond belief. The cardinal on VIII killed itself mid-song.
